Prepaid eSIM plans for China Mainland start from A$3.43 on Connectify. Pricing depends on the amount of data and days of validity you choose.

Question 3

How much data do I need for a trip to China Mainland?

Accepted Answer

For light use (maps, messaging, occasional social media) 1–3 GB per week is plenty. Heavy users streaming video, uploading photos, or hotspotting should choose 5 GB+ or an unlimited plan.

Connectify travel eSIMs are data-only plans. You can still make calls over Wi-Fi calling, WhatsApp, FaceTime, or Google Voice using the eSIM data.

Accepted Answer

Only two settings: enable data roaming for the Connectify line, and set it as your default data line. That's it — no APN changes required for most phones.

Question 6

When should I install my China Mainland eSIM?

Accepted Answer

You can install it any time — even weeks before your trip. The plan only starts counting down validity once you enable it on the device. Install on Wi-Fi at home for the easiest setup.
